Obituary for Antonio Joseph Proia Sr.
Antonio Joseph Proia Sr. of Billerica. Passed peacefully in his sleep at age 94. Born in Marion County, West Virginia on September 16, 1917; Antonio was one of twelve children born to Liberato and Maria Loretta Proia, whom have predeceased him. He later moved to Newton, MA and then to Billerica, MA. Antonio was married to Katherine Evelyn (Ball) Proia formerly of Block Island, RI, whom he married in 1943, who has since predeceased Antonio. Antonio is survived by three sons, Rodel and his late spouse, Judith (Johansen) Proia, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Thomas and his spouse, MaryAnn (Roy) Proia of Billerica, Timothy and his spouse Marge (Christensen) Proia of Billerica as well as his deceased son, Antonio Joseph Proia Jr., formerly of Billerica and his spouse Jayne E. (Milton) Proia of Westford. Antonio is remembered also by eight grandchildren as well as eight great-grandchildren. PROIA – Of Billerica, Feb. 17, Antonio Joseph Prioa Sr. It being his request all services were private and held at the convenience of his family. Interment beside his beloved wife was at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. In lieu of flowers a thoughtful remembrance in memory of Katherine Proia may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
