Anthony T. Cristello – age 86, beloved husband of Carol A. (Charbonneau) Cristello died peacefully Thursday, July 9, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Cambridge, January 27, 1940, the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Robbio) Cristello and was raised in Cambridge, spending the last 57 years in Billerica where he raised his family.
Anthony was employed as an Accountant for the United Electric Controls in Watertown for 25 years before his retirement. Upon retirement he spent time traveling with friends and family and relaxing at his cottage in Maine. His greatest joy was being Grampie to his five grandchildren.
Family was the center of his life, and his faith guided him in all that he did. He was always the first to lend a helping hand, offering quiet support and kindness to those around him. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones over a game of cards, working on puzzles, and indulging in many sweet treats.
Besides his wife, Anthony is survived by his daughters, Marianne Cristello, Michele Cristello and her husband Mathieu Langlois, Karen Cristello and her husband Glen Salvaggio and Kathleen Diorio and her husband Jim; his five beloved grandchildren, Nicholas DeRosa and his wife Samantha, Christopher DeRosa, Jack Monahan, Sydney Diorio, and Sebastien Langlois; his sister Debra Lucas and his niece Kelsey Rosado. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Flock.
Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A private burial will take place Wednesday at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
