Obituary for Anne-Marie Norman
Anne-Marie (Dermody) Norman, age 60, beloved wife of Lawrence R. “Larry” Norman died unexpectedly Tuesday at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

She was born in Boston, December 3, 1960, a daughter of the late Paul R. and Eugenia (Tuttle) Dermody and was a lifelong Billerica resident.

Anne-Marie loved music and could play almost any piece of music by ear. She played the clarinet in her high school band and was a member of the University Band at Brigham Young University. When she transferred to Berklee College of Music, from which she graduated, she focused on the guitar. Following graduation, she taught guitar to young children for several years.

After her children were born, she went back to school to earn a M.Ed. in Special Education. For the past twenty years she taught special education in various local schools and during the last several years was a special education teacher at Wilmington High School where she formed the Buddies Club and helped start the Life Skills and DECA programs.

Anne-Marie was a former member of the Billerica Arts Council, a lifelong member of the Billerica Democratic Town Committee, and a youth soccer coach. She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Besides her husband she is survived by her children Lauren, Elizabeth and Daniel Norman all of Billerica and Andrew Norman of Burlington; her siblings, Kathleen Rivet and her husband Dean of Sudbury, Paula Khan and her husband Malik of MD and Michael Dermody and his wife Laurie of Groton as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Mary Church 796 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
