Anne Barbaro (Orinofsky), 80, of Billerica, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 12, 1945, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Anne was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Orinofsky and Sophie (Spakowski) Orinofsky. She grew up in Brockton and graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School, Class of 1963. She went on to attend Northeastern University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1968, with minors in Anthropology and Sociology.
On November 22, 1970, Anne married the love of her life, Anthony Barbaro. Together they built a devoted marriage spanning more than 55 years, rooted in faith, family, friendship, and unwavering love. In May 1973, they purchased their home in Billerica, where they raised their three sons and spent more than five decades creating cherished memories. Through their neighborhood, community activities, and countless sporting events, Anne formed many lifelong friendships and touched the lives of all who knew her.
Anne was a loving and devoted mother to Eric Barbaro and his wife Jennifer of Londonderry, New Hampshire; Jason Barbaro and his wife Michelle of Billerica, Massachusetts; and Brendan Barbaro and his wife Kimberly of Billerica, Massachusetts. Her sons were her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and success. From childhood through adulthood, she was their biggest supporter, strongest advocate, and most constant source of love and encouragement. The values she instilled, the sacrifices she made, and the unwavering devotion she showed her family helped shape the lives of her children and will continue to influence generations to come.
Nothing brought Anne greater joy than her role as grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Taylor, Brian, Brie, Lauryn, Makayla, Ryan, and Vincent. They were the center of her world, and she celebrated each of them with unconditional love, encouragement, and pride. Whether it was a sporting event, school concert, graduation, prom, or any milestone that mattered to them, Anne was always there, cheering them on and sharing in their accomplishments. Her grandchildren never had to wonder if Grannie would show up—she always did. Her unwavering presence, boundless love, and steadfast support created a special bond with each of them, and the memories they shared will be treasured forever.
She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, but also a cherished mother-in-law whose kindness, support, and unconditional love enriched the lives of her extended family. Anne had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Anne lived her life guided by kindness, compassion, and service to others. She was known for her gentle nature, warm smile, and willingness to help anyone in need. Family was always her highest priority, and she found great happiness in bringing loved ones together.
Anne had many talents and interests. She loved gardening, crafting, sewing, and spending time by the ocean. She was an exceptionally gifted seamstress and was especially known for the beautiful doll clothes she created by hand. Anne cherished her beach days and found great joy and peace by the water. She and Anthony treasured their time in Ogunquit, Maine, where they enjoyed walking together along the Marginal Way, taking in the beauty of the ocean, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
More than anything, Anne loved family traditions. Whether celebrating holidays, gathering for special occasions, or simply spending time together, she created the moments that became treasured memories for generations. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness, and her family will forever cherish the traditions she established and the love she shared so freely.
Anne will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished mother-in-law, beloved grandmother, faithful Catholic, loyal friend, and one of the kindest people anyone could ever hope to know. Her legacy of faith, generosity, love, and family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
