Obituary for Annamarie Balkan
Billerica – Annamarie (McDowell) Balkan – Age 70, beloved wife of Charles D. Balkan died Monday surrounded by her family at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, February 17, 1944, the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Rash) McDowell and lived in Philadelphia for many years and moved to Billerica in 1969. Mrs. Balkan was the Owner of the former Mrs. B’s Daycare in Billerica. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Darlene Vacca and her wife Toni of Billerica; her sons, Charlie Balkan and his wife Cheryl, Ronald Balkan and his wife Michelle of Nashua, Gary Balkan and Thomas Balkan of Billerica and Michael Balkan and his wife Wendi of Tyngsboro; her sister, Darlene Miller of NC and is also survived by 9 grandchildren. BALKAN – Of Billerica, July 14, Annamarie (McDowell) Balkan, Funeral Thursday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
