Obituary for Andrew Campbell
Andrew (Andy) Campbell, age 86, beloved husband of Helen (Pendleton) Campbell passed away Wednesday, October 23, at his home. He was born in Lexington on September 30, 1927. …30 days has September all the rest I don’t remember… A son of the late James P. Campbell, Jr. and Gladys (Slade) Campbell. He lived in Lexington and Cambridge prior to moving to Billerica 50 years ago. Andy was a machinist at the New England Carbide and Tool Manufacturing for 50 years. He was an avid hunter and archer as a young man and remained a lifetime member of the Woburn Sportsmen Association. He also enjoyed classic literature and poetry, old movies and music including, opera, Irish folk, country and bagpipes. Andrew traveled much of the United States and was interested in our nation’s history and national parks. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Campbell) Friend and her partner Tom Hughes and their two daughters, Ashley and Amanda and her children. Two brothers, Norman Campbell of Lowell, David (Henry) Campbell and his wife Donna of FL, one sister Lois Carter of Surry NH, and a sister-in-law, Beverly Campbell of Newport RI. He was the brother of the late James (Preston) Campbell and the brother-in-law of the late Virginia (Nelson) Campbell and Frank Carter. Andy was a devoted Dad and a beloved and favorite Uncle to many nieces and nephews and a very special Great-Grampy to Brennan. CAMPBELL – Of Billerica, Oct. 23, Andrew Campbell. Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 12 noon. A Graveside Service will be held at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd. Billerica at 1:30 p.m. Relative and friends respectfully invited. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.
