Obituary for Alice R. Tierney
Alice R. Tierney – Age 70, wife of the late John J. Tierney Sr. died Saturday at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cambridge, February 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Alice (Malone) Gavin and lived in Cambridge for many years before moving to Billerica 43 years ago. Mrs. Tierney was employed as a Waitress at the former Royal Pagoda and was a former member of St. Theresa’s Bowling League. She is survived by her daughter with whom she resided, Lynne Tierney of Billerica; her sons, William Tierney of Billerica, John Tierney Jr. and his wife Kathy of Methuen and Edward Tierney and his wife Karen Tedford-Tierney of Billerica; her brothers, Kenneth Hersey of Wells, ME and Michael Gavin of Ca; her sisters, Donna Hersey of Cambridge and Dale Cusack and Patricia Sullivan of Somerville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren. TIERNEY – Of Billerica, Sept. 8, Alice R. (Gavin) Tierney, Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
