Obituary for Alice 'Mae' Lane
Alice “Mae” Lane – Age 85, wife of the late Walter V. Lane Sr. died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Somerville, May 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Sadie (Luke) Carey and lived in Billerica for 68 years. Mrs. Lane at one time was employed at the Lowell Parachute Factory and was later employed for QSC Electronics in Billerica prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Center. She is survived by her sons, Walter Lane Jr. and his wife Heidi of Chelmsford, Kevin Lane and his wife Suzan of Deltona, FL, Dennis Lane and his wife Kathy of Tyngsboro and Thomas Lane of Billerica; her daughter, Donna Matte and her husband Richard of Newbury, NH; her sisters, Doris (Carey) McCarthy and Nancy (Carey) Dufresne of Chelmsford. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lane was the grandmother of the late Michael K. Lane and sister of the late Elliot, John, Richard, Edwin and Esther Ann Carey and Margaret Kinnal. LANE – Of Billerica, Feb. 19, Alice M. (Carey) Lane, A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, Feb. 25 at St. Andrew’s Church, Talbot Ave., N. Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the charity of one’s choice.
