Obituary for Alfred W. Dagle
Alfred W. Dagle, age 83, beloved husband of Nancy R. (Dempsey) Dagle died Saturday at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after a brief illness. He was born in Boston December 12, 1929 a son of the late Alfred W. and Anna M. (Lucey) Dagle and lived in Charlestown before moving to Billerica in 1957. Mr. Dagle served in the US Army and was the Store Manager for the former First National Grocery Store. He owned and operated two coffee shops in downtown Boston and also enjoyed his many years as a building superintendent in downtown crossing in Boston. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Stephen Dagle and his wife Jean of Beverly, Patrick Dagle and his wife Beth of Leominster, Andrew Dagle and his wife Esther of Winchester and Michael Dagle and his wife Kristen of Groton; three daughters, Debra Dagle of Groton, Diane McNamara and Jean Dagle both of Billerica; two sisters, Denise Fitzpatrick of Billerica and Judy James of Danvers, his cousin Joan Melanson as well as his grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Donna Hyman and brother of the late Francis Dagle. Mr. Dagle’s family would like to thank the staff of the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley for their care and compassion during his illness. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, 796 Boston Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
