Obituary for Alfred S. McCall
BILLERICA – Alfred S. McCall, age 90, beloved husband of the late Theresa (Blades) McCall, died Friday at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Woburn, August 7, 1923 a son of the late Albert and Mary (Smithermen) McCall and lived in Woburn prior to moving to Billerica in 1961. Mr. McCall served in the US Army during WW II, participated in the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart for injuries received while serving. He was a Millwright for Raytheon Corp for over 40 years and was an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by two sons, Robert McCall and his wife Rita (Rafferty) of Billerica and Donald McCall and his wife Millie of Sandy Ridge, NC; also survived by six grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and his former daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Tuck) McCall. He was the father of the late Alfred S. McCall Jr. and the brother of the late Edward Robert and William McCall and Alma Dowd, Dotty Sousa, Margaret Surette and Mary McCall. MCCALL – Of Billerica, formerly of Woburn, Oct. 25, Alfred S. McCall. Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica, at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Ave. Lowell, MA 01854 Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
