Obituary for Alden F. Westerlund
CHELSMFORD – Alden F. Westerlund, age 99, beloved husband of the late Margaret (Sutton) Westerlund died Sunday at the Palm Center in Chelmsford after a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston, June 24, 1921 a son of the late Frederick and Egny (Johnson) Westerlund and was a longtime Billerica resident before moving to Chelmsford 28 years ago.
Mr. Westerlund served in the US Navy during WW II and worked in maintenance and as a mechanic for several local printing companies. He was also an active member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church for many years serving as an Usher and Sexton.
He is survived by four daughters, Ardine Shepard and her husband Edgar L Shepard Jr. of Lexington, Elaine Doherty of Cambridge, Yvonne Casey of Pepperell and Valerie Duncan of Chelmsford as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
