Obituary for Albert L. St. George Jr.
Albert L. St. George Jr., Age 101, husband of the late Antoinette “Netta” M. (DeRosa) St. George died peacefully Tuesday, June 7 at the Woburn Nursing Center with his family at his side.
He was born in Boston, February 19, 1921, a son of the late Albert L. St. George Sr. and Mary (Laracy) St. George and was raised in E. Boston before moving to Billerica and then Hyannis. He later moved back to Billerica 20 years ago. Al proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
Al was employed as a Longshoreman for the Boston Shipping Association for over 45 years prior to his retirement. He was a former member of the Billerica Elks and was a member of the Medford VFW.
He is survived by his son, Albert L. St. George III and his wife Mary of Billerica; his daughters, Frances Emerson and her husband Tom of Chandler, AZ and Lorraine Capen of Billerica; his brother, Herbert St. George of NC and his ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was the father of the late Mary Reed and her husband John and father-in-law of the late Joe Capen.
His funeral will be held Saturday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial with military honors will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
