Alan D. Tasker – Age 80, beloved husband of Linda L. (Hill) Tasker died peacefully Wednesday, March 22 at the Life Care Center of Acton.
He was born in Melrose, June 6, 1942, a son of the late Ronald and Ruth E. (Lovejoy) Tasker and was raised in Reading and moved to Billerica 51 years ago.
Alan was a Northeastern graduate with a Master's Degree (Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering and worked in various positions in the hybrid microelectronics field for many years. He was well known for his design innovations and expertise in that field.
He enjoyed electronics, music, math, as well as fixing, restoring, and collecting military rescue radios. He was a prominent member of the ham radio community; his call sign was WA1NYR. He loved spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Alan is survived by his son, Wesley Tasker, daughter-in-law, Lydia Lafionatis, and grandchild, Samir Tasker of Somerville; his daughter, Amy Tasker of Methuen; his sister, Carol Palmer of Indiana; and nieces and nephews in Indiana and New Hampshire.
At the request of the family, funeral arrangements will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Billerica Food Pantry.
