Obituary for Adeline M. Sergi
Adeline (Ministeri) Sergi - died Monday, Nov. 27 at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington. She was 103.
Mrs. Sergi immigrated to America from Riesi, Sicily in 1925 when she was 11 with her mother and 5 siblings. They settled in Boston where she learned English and became a citizen. She met her late husband Guy J. Sergi while living in Boston and eventually they settled in Billerica.
In Boston, she worked as a seamstress with her mother and 2 sisters. Soon after moving to Billerica, she worked at Clermont’s Market, eventually becoming the store’s Produce Manager.
Mrs. Sergi participated in many activities at the Billerica Council of Aging. In her 90s, she volunteered to assist the elderly at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford.
She is survived by her 3 children, Camille M. Boullie of E. Dennis; Nat J. Sergi and his wife Darlene of Jupiter Island, FL; and Rose A. Sergi (Doyon) of Tyngsboro and her fiancé, Jerry Lavery of Dracut; 7 grandchildren, Mark J. Boullie and his wife Cathy of Andover; Lisa C. Martin and her partner Dan Gray of Plymouth; John W. Boullie and his wife Lori of Avon, CT; Michael J. Sergi and his wife Loanne of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Eric Sergi and his wife Sherry of Deland, FL; Guy C. Doyon and his wife Erin of Chelmsford, and Matthew S. Doyon and his wife Dafne of Guadalajara, Mexico. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Her son-in-law John T. Boullie and her grandson David J. Sergi predeceased Mrs. Sergi.
SERGI – Of Billerica, Nov. 27, Adeline M. Sergi. Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 12 Noon. A chapel service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Billerica Council on Aging, 25 Concord Rd., Billerica, MA 01821.
