Obituary for Dianne E. Long
DRACUT – Dianne E. (Dempsey) Long, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Saturday May 20th at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Stoneham, the second child of the late Ronald and Barbara (Sexton) Dempsey and grew up in Bedford before moving to Framingham, Lowell and finally Dracut for almost 20 years.

Before her illness she worked in a processing center for insurance companies. Mrs. Long was a very talented seamstress and baker. She made several bridal and bridesmaid dresses for friends and family over the years. She would also design and bake wedding, birthday and any other special event cakes. She was a very artistic person. After her illness she still sewed fleece jackets for the needy.

She is survived by one sister, Linda Paulin and her husband Joseph of San Diego, CA and two brothers, Bruce Dempsey and his wife Cynthia and Dana Dempsey and his wife Lisa all of Billerica; as well as several nieces and nephews.

LONG – Of Dracut, formerly of Bedford and Lowell, May 20, Dianne E. (Dempsey) Long. A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3 at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. All other services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
